So, I re-capped my VHF Spectra. Upon powering it up, I noticed that EVERY segment, every LED is lit on the display. I thought the radio was horribly destroyed by my ham-fisted soldering technique but, oddly enough, it seems to operate just fine. I just got a good audio report from a fairly distant repeater. Does anyone have any idea what I might have done to hose this up and how I might fix it?
Thanks as always!

I won't say ham fisted, but the circuits are probably eaten away.

Re: Spectra display issues after re-cap
Resloved! Well, not really. I had a spare display board laying around that I swapped for the original and it works. I didn't notice any board damage from leaky caps on the original - maybe I put one of the replacement caps in backwards? In any case, I now have a working Spectra and am faced with the dilemma of what to put into the memory as far as modes go - so far, I am putting every 2-meter repeater in the tri-state area in it. And, so far, this has been the most tedious part of the programming process - just figuring out what I want in the damn thing! All in all, it's a great radio and I look forward to using it.

Great, and figuring out IF the repeater directory frequency list is up to date.
