have a VHF m1225 that tx's as indicated by watt meter and using a portable to listen to make sure something is being tx
can hear the carrier but to sounds of voice or back ground noise come thru.

Have you tried a different mic on the radio?

let me know if you have found a solution on this one. I have an R1225 repeater that just lost audio. It repeats a carrier (no audio) and ID's ok. I'm very interested in this problem.

We have had a chip cap and or IC fail in the IF stage that can give the same symptoms on a few repairs.
