Stronger hang-up clip?

Post by Apu »

Is there a stronger hang-up clip than the HLN9073?

We've replaced a few of these over the past couple of years but I don't remember having this problem previously. It seems to the repeated action of hanging up the mic is wearing down the metal on the clip making for a very sharp edge. If you try to hang-up the mic by feel, you occasionally end up cutting your finger on it. We need something made out of a stronger metal, or just have to start becoming more proactive about replacing them before they get too sharp.

The strongest hang-up clip would be one of the old "PL" hang- up boxes that were used thru the 70's -90's on Micors, Mitreks Etc. Its about 2"" square with no sharp edges. Don S

Those wear causing the sharp edges. Bend the spring back so the mic fits without wearing out the clip. Also mic will drop in much easier.

These are kind of expensive, but this is what we have been putting in our apparatus. They have worked out pretty well and they are strong.

I don't know if you can just order the clip without the bracket, but Troy makes some of the strongest ones I've ever seen. http://www.troyproducts.com/products/Ne ... ckets.html
