Folks, I have seen older posts indicating that the aforementioned can't be done; that you can not combine an O5 and an O3 HHCH control head on the same radio. Is anyone aware if this has been enabled in any of the recent firmware updates? I may just try it, but wisdom is appreciated in this situation.
Your comments are welcome and appreciated.

Re: XTL5000 with both O5 and O3 control head
Given how the control heads react/interact with the radios (especially the digital volume on the 03) I doubt this will ever be possible. I believe dual 05's are possible.

You can have up to 4 of the O5 control heads on an XTL5000. If by chance you have an XTL2500, then only 2 of the O5 style control heads can be connected.
Have not heard of any mix using the O3 head with the O5 at the same time. I also have to take the stand and believe that the firmware will not allow it.

Re: XTL5000 with both O5 and O3 control head
Come to think of it every multi-head setup I've seen has been W4-W9 / 05. I've NEVER seen or heard of a dual 03 and I believe it is due to the different CHIB. I could be wrong but I think I'm at least on the right track, iirc the W and 05 heads use a d25 setup at the front where the 03 is different.

O series heads all use the same gcai connectors and tibs.
Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system

To answer the OP question...the O5/O3 can not be used as the same time on an XTL5000. Multiple O3 heads can't even be used.
