Programming MOTOTRBO MTR3000

I've looked high & low for the answers, please excuse if I've overlooked something simple.

For the MOTOTRBO MTR3000... I've been hearing that the purchase price *includes* the CPS... is this true? The vender would just distribute it when you buy the repeater?

Is it RVN5115 like it is for the lower-power XPR8400?

And... the MTR3000 programming cable... is it just a standard USB A-B cable like for a printer? Or a special Motorola USB A-B cable? Or something else entirely?

The price pages are misleading and I don't think they were ever clarified after it was brought to the business team's attention

When they say ships with the latest software, they actually mean firmware

If Motorola was giving away CPS with it's repeater, I'm sure it'd be like one of those moments where you never forget where you were. Lol.

Yes, it just uses the standard TRBO CPS, RVN5115.

Okay no problem making the system talk in analog.

But in digital mode, I have run into some sort of problem. When I key up a subscriber radio, I get a bonk. Display on the subscribers shows an unlock icon.

Color code matches between repeater & subscribers. Privacy was set to Basic on the repeater & subscribers, subscribers showing key of 1, but could not find where to set this in the repeater.

What else do I have to look for to make everything talk?

Does /\/\otorola have a programming manual?

Have you set up a contact list in the subscriber with the appropriate talkgroup that is being used for transmit?

The repeater doesn't need a key. But make sure the type of privacy is the same or you will get weird audio problems

GmanX - What type of weird audio problems? I have installed an MTR-3000 / XPR-6550 system and the audio sounds like R2D2. Distorted, nasally, computer generated. I had AGC on, and I set up a simplex channel to listen to the audio between two radios and adjust levels. With AGC off, I needed to set the microphone gain to +13, and using the accessory mic PMMN4025A gain to +16 to get decent audio.

I did check CPS and I did not have privacy on the repeater turned on before.

I am running current firmware on all units.
