hehe

the State is looking to fill openings all through PSCO

Unfortunately the pay is not commensurate with the job requirements. Hence the number of State techs jumping ship to municipal/county jobs...!

That said, if you have a pulse and a GROL, your job opportunities with the State are endless. You don't even have to know what you're doing... just study the exams!

Nonsense. There are posted tech positions open in Shasta, San Luis Obispo, LA, Riverside, San Bernardino, Sonoma. Senior tech positions open in Sacramento and Riverside. I know there are at least 20 unposted tech positions open going back to the OCIO days. These are civil service positions and exam scores rule above all else.

Here is a position open for a tech trainee. This would be good for someone looking to get their feet wet in the industry: http://jobs.spb.ca.gov/wvpos/more_info.cfm?recno=536203

It is sadly the truth that state pays very low in the beginning but you got great benefits and job security.
