XTS5000 volume knob lubricant

Post by sjxts3000 »

Replaced the volume knob on an XTS 5000 today with the "kit" that comes with the new knob, insert, and gasket.
What's a suitable/safe lubricant to use on the gasket as the volume knob is "tight" from the gasket being "dry".

Silicone lubricant OK?

Vole knob? Do they chew on it?

I think the knob is supposed to be tight. That's the idea, so it can't get bumped around and have the volume change. Think of it being carried on an officers belt.

I am using Nye NyoGel lubes for my radio fleet: http://www.lighthound.com/search.asp?ke ... &search=GO

Have no issues with 760G, but it's not identical to Motorola lube.
I am biggest fan of XTS2500 and ASTRO Digital Saber.
