XTL 2500 Dash to Remote Conversion

Post by rydzewski »

I tried to search, but was unable to find my answer. I am a newbie to the ASTRO25 Mobiles. I have just bought a dash mount XTL2500 and would like information on what is needed to make it a remote mount radio. Is it as easy as buying a remote mount kit (like CDM's) or is there more to it hardware/software wise.

Thank you

You can buy a kit for $325

Includes the CHIB, TIB, CHIB to CHIA flex, TIB to brick flex, screws, mounting bracket and interconnect cable

Or you can source the parts individually... might end up costing more for the used than new, might not

Depending on when the mobile was originally purchased, there are 2 different kits.

H1818 kit is for radios originally purchased after 7/1/2006
H1825 kit is for radios originally purchased before 7/1/2006

If the same holds true from my older information, it can only be purchased via a dealer.

It is an APB item so the dealer will have to submit paperwork in order to purchase

Some dealers *buffs knuckles on shirt* have the kits in stock
