Ebay Repeater Cable

Post by BigTex1136 »

Ok now that my CDM issue has been fixed and I am able to program the radio again here is what I was trying to set up. I bought a repeater cable off ebay from affordableradio. The cable is a Duplex repeater Interface and here is a link
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181292189162?ss ... 1497.l2649

Now my question is how in the work do I set up the two CDM radios? I have heard he makes good cables and I am please with that but it did not come with any info on how to set up the radios. I want to make a small portable repeater. From what I thought this will allow a radio to RX and TX and the 2nd radio to do the same. Thanks again

Hello:
Also if I recall the CDM has a 20 pin option plug and the cable you have will be 16 pin.
Believe you used the center 16 pins of the 20 on radio meaning leave two unused both sides of your cable.
Double check that info but I recall reading that.

Your information is correct. The left and right pin pairs on the 20 pin are not needed. 16 pin connectors work fine.

There are some small variations among the pin-outs going back in time to the M1225's and then the Radius/MaxTracs. For the OP, that's one of the reasons that I recommend ebay seller mre1032 to folks over and over again. He's got cables that will pair up many combinations properly and they come with full instructions including programming info.

Yes I am plugged into the center of the 20pin plug. I think I figured it out. I have both CDM radios set up in the Acc Pin as RICK RX and then added the TX to pin 2 and that seems to have worked but I think I have a bad cable because one end of the cable does not allow audio to come through. It opens the mic but its just dead air. I flipped the cable and same problem just on the other side. I wanted duplex so both radios would TX and RX. So he is sending me another cable in the mail. But I want to make sure the set up is right in each radio on the cps.
