Rib to Maratrac Cable

Post by wcsd106 »

I recently acquired a 100w Maratrac mobile VHF 136-174MHz with the A3 (8 Channel with Scan Option) Control Head.
I've been reading about programming the Maratracs, but the rib to mobile cable that is listed for the Maratrac shows using an 8 pin RJ jack to connect to the radio. Since I have the A3 head that uses the motorola style microphone jack, I was wondering if anyone had a schematic for a rib cable that will work for my application.

Thank You

It has been a long time but I recall that you lift the radio cover and find the programming jack inside.

Ok. Thanks for that information. I'll have to get myself a motorola key. I know I had several of them when I used to run a radio repair business, but that was years ago and things like that don't tend to stick around long. I still have connections in the communications sales and service industry so I'll make a couple of calls tomorrow.
