VHF Maxtrac low audio
I have a VHF maxtrac 16-CH 45W, 16 pin board that has a very low audio problem with the internal speaker. When I turn it on (accessory connector in) the speaker audio is barely there. When I program it for handset use the audio is fine the handset speaker (very good actually). This is a new radio and it came from a Nashville TN Govt. I have a feeling it is a setting, but I am not sure. Any help appreciated. Radio has full power out and excellent receive. D43MJA7DA5CK
Brian Griffin: Ah, if my memory serves me, this is the physics department.
Chris Griffin: That would explain all the gravity.

Lois: Peter, you're drunk again.
Peter: No, I'm just exhausted because I've been up all night drinking.

Re: VHF Maxtrac low audio
If the handset audio is a good level as you mention, it can be the output coupling capacitor in the speaker amp. Common problem, the caps dry out.
The audio amp is disabled, IE handset is selected in RSS, which disables the audio amp when the mic is off hook.
A bad transistor in the amp.
