I have a 20/24 ch Radius M1225. It is connected to a ITA2000A - GAI-Tronics tone remote (essentially the same as the Motorola L3276). I thought that I would be able to channel steer the M1225 using the programming of the accessory pins in the rear. I have done this previously on the GM300s before they were replaced due to narrowbanding. I am not finding the options for channel steering in the RSS for the 1225 however. I did run across something on the internet which said only the 4 ch 1225 radios had channel steer capabilities. Anyone have any suggestions on a way to channel steer the 20 ch 1225 from a tone remote???
Thanks!!!

Re: How to Channel Steer Radius M1225
I looked at codeplugs for both 4 ch. and 20/24 ch. models and only the 4 ch. had channel steering options in the acc. settings, so that confirms what you read. I don't know of any way to make the 20 ch. radios do it, unless someone else knows of a hack you're probably going to have to find another model radio that does support it.

I installed quite a few M1225s as firehouse consoles back in the day, the only ones that understood function tones were the 4-channel models. I think we used a TNA200 connected to an ITR2000A.

Hello:
Interesting you mentioned you did ch steering with the GM300 and since narrow banding you must have replaced the GM300 with the M1225.
Ok consider this :
The GM300 was manufactured from the Motorola factory in narrow band version as well as wide band.
So my question is - Could you use a Motorola factory GM300 narrow band mobile and ch steer to get 16ch or do the 40ch hex edit mod to get more channels ?
This would give you 16ch for sure and with the 40ch hex edit mod youd get 40 channels.
If you need the vhf factory narrow or uhf factory narrow band I have both in inventory at the moment.
Just a thought for you to think on if you run into issues with the m1225 not being enough.

Re: How to Channel Steer Radius M1225
We replaced all our GM300's with CDM1250's for Channel steering on our tone remote adapters when it came time to narrowband them.
