Hi,
I am trying to adapt the HMN4069 microphone to a different Motorola radio (Micom2). I know the pinouts on the Micom2 but I have not had much luck on finding the pinouts for the microphone. Can someone please post the pinout? If I have to I can make a custom connector end to match up to the radio.
The microphone is not one that is conducive to being taken apart like the older models.
thanks lots!
Tish

That mic may be the same 'pin out' as a Maxtrac/Radius/GM300 mic. The RJ45 connector is backwards numbered in Motorola Maxtrac and GM manuals.
BTW, I make an adapter that allows the use of GM300 mics on things like ICOM7200 HF radio.

Re: Microphone pinout for the HMN4069
One of the problems that comes up with the Mobat radio is that pin #7 is the "monitor" pin and pin #2 is digital RXD (like for programming). If you use some other Motorola mics and do not pay attention to pin-outs you can end up hanging up the mic on-hook and it takes the RXD data line to ground.
on the MOBAT it is;
1 SW_A
2 RXD
3 TXD
4 GND
5 MIC_AUDIO
6 PTT_MIC
7 MON
8 AUDIO_OUT
I do not know the pin-out on the Next Generation Mic (HMN4069) but I assume it is the same as the HMN4072 (classic). I do not have pin-outs for either. If anyone can give me a rundown I would appreciate it

Re: Microphone pinout for the HMN4069
From MCS control heads:
Pin 1 OPT SW N/C Not used
Pin 3 MON Hang up on mic
Pin 4 GND Ground in Mic
Pin 5 Mic Mic Hi
Pin 6 PTT Mic PTT
Pin 7 AUX N/C
Pin 8 Handset audio N/C
The programing Cable. Shows pin orentiation.http://batlabs.com/images/mcs2000.gif
So make a note of the wire colors on the mic cable and install a new RJ45 connector on the four wires from the HMN 4069 mic. You do not need the other mic leads connected.
Pin 4 will be the same
Pin 5 will be the same
Pin 6 will be the same
Pin 3 will be pin 7

Pin 4 GND Ground in Mic

Will,
Thanks so much, that will really help in making a custom cable end so I can jack the microphone into the MOBAT-2
