Originate QCII page from HT750

Post by Wiregeek »

Hello, Folks.

The application is small industrial, served by an XPR8400 running in analog repeat mode, with CDM1250 on the dispatch desks and HT750 in the field (all the H25SDC9AA3 models with no keypad or display). We're hoping to setup something similar to the MDC1200 Emergency functionality, without having to replace the dispatch CDMs with CDM1550. For testing, I have a plain-jane HT750 ( H25SDC9AA3 ) on the bench, as well as a CDM1250 ( AAM25RHD9AA2AN ).

Right now we've tried MDC/Emergency (which the CDM1250 ignored), DTMF (which the CDM1250 won't decode), and QCII (which apparently the HT750 won't generate). I have the appropriate CPS and cables to fiddle programming.

Anyone have any ideas for duplicating the "Press button, activate alarm at dispatch" functionality?

All of that equipment should support that functionality without issue (with the exception of the HT750 encoding QCII). You need to properly program everything for correct MDC operation, and it'll do everything you want. Yes, the CDM1250.

Orange button on the HT750 generates emergency MDC packet to CDM1250 via XPR8400, CDM1250 goes into emergency receive mode and displays ID # of initiating portable.

Do stock CDM1250s do emergency decode? The checkbox is greyed out in CPS.

seconded, this CDM1250 doesn't believe in emergency decode, the option is greyed out in CPS. I don't believe it is the most current firmware, I'll build a flash dongle and upgrade it, see if that helps.

If they've added it, it's been within the last 10 months, because I have radios with a 9/15 date code that still had it greyed out.

fabricated a flash switch out of an RLN4853B and upgraded the firmware in my test CDM1250, now I'm at R05.10.04 firmware which is the most current available from Big Mo. Same results, Decode Emergency is still grayed out in the CPS. CPS is R06.12.09, which is latest ver per Moto. Codeplug version is 11.0, not finding anything about that being current or not.

I stand corrected then, this may be a CDM1550 only feature. I'm not 100% on the subscriber stuff.
