Motrac head ID

Post by firedog359 »

Hello all, I need some assistance in identifying a couple of old Motrac control heads that I just purchased off Ebay. They look almost identical but there are a couple of internal differences. Both heads have two rotary switches. one is squelch and one is on/off/volume. There are two lights above the switches. One red and one green. the housings are tan with brushed aluminum plates. both have the mic connector on the lower left side. Here are the differences. One head has a Black back connector plate and the front lower small plate is plain with the words MOTRAC FM RADIO and the batwings logo in a circle and all outlined in a black box. There is a number stenciled on the bottom."TCN6026AE".The other head has a brown back connector plate and the front lower small plate has a small white window on the left side and the words MOTRAC FM RADIO and the batwings logo in a circle to the right of it and all outlined in a black box. When I opened the housing up there is a small circuit board below the brown connector plate right behind that small white window on the front plate. There is no number stenciled on this head. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

They are both Motrac heads of different vintage. The one with the window and circuit board has an automatic light dimmer so the green ON light lowers at night.
