Hello:
Been awhile back ill admit but the GM300 / Maxtracs were sorta known to drift freqs and not stabilize due to the interconnect pins from logic bd to rf bd getting dirty from vibration movement causing a dirty contact.
You simply cleaned the interconnect pins and reassembled and normally freqs were back and stable again.
But I remember it being mentioned that some were using a coating on the pins to eliminate the problem.
Anyone remember what the product was and where to get it ?
I still have a few GM300 12.5 narrow band mobiles out in the field with customers and would like to try the fix for this.
I know about the bad rf pins versus the new rf pin change but want to coat the pins too.
Thank You

Re: G300/Maxrac Interconect pins ???
I just scrub the pins with a short haired brush dipped in alcohol followed by a scrub with WD40.

Stabilant 22
Available from Motorola, or other sources.
Yes it does work. One pins are treated with it, you don't see any further problems.

Is there still a source for those GM300 pins? I'd imagine they are getting to be hard to find by now.

The Motorola part number for Stabilant 22 contact enhancer is 1180384V93
This is the concentrate version. It makes 30 ml.

Hello:
I did a google search and stabilant 22 is available all over the internet.
Did even see it on ebay which price was in line with others too.
Ill be ordering a concentrate bottle that mixes into 30 ml with 99 percent alcohol as the carrier and drying agent per the instructions I found.
Im not sure about motorolas supply on the newer gm300 pins but most of the gm300 mobiles I support have the newer oins now so the few new I have should hold them till radios get retired.
And I do remove the newer style pin connector as used if still good for future just in case needs if I run out of the new pins.
Yeah I have some Narrow band GM300 mobiles from the factory out and about amonst the customers yet.
GM300 model numbers M43GMC09C2A and M44GMC09C3A were the only two I inventoried for sale to keep the radio types all common for parts and service repair needs which kept it simple for me with one the VHF and the other a UHF model.
Covered 25 to 40/45 watts and any ch from one to sixteen channels for customer needs.
