My buddy just bought a tahoe, and will be selling me his 91 blazer for $1500

so....I'm thinking

lowband maratrac

dual band remote mount ham rig (2m / 440 kenwood)

mt1000 convertacom in the back w/dual band antenna

m216 uhf for gmrs (still trying to figure out where it will go, maybe to the back of the center console?)

pop 3 hole in the roof for NMO mounts

0ne 5/8 larsen vhf
one 5/8 larsen uhf
one 1/4 wave vhf or a low profile dual band antenna (for the convertacom)

and

I have this nice ass ball mount for the rear 1/4 panel-figure a 1/4 or 1/2 wave in lowband (6meters)

thoughts? sugestions? ridicule?

S*** weld some 1/2 inch plate steel on it and call it a Bradley....

Sounds good to me. Hey there are some 110 watt spectras on ebay right now for a good price. That would be a nice complement to the ride. Don't forget the electrically operated rifle locks

I'd actually stiuck in a remote mount spectra but I have to pay for the truck first!

Sweet as hell!! I could tell right off the bat you were alright!!!

Man I wish we lived closer together to get some range time in.

I have some info on one hell of a firearms school fairly near me if you are ever intersted. This guy will make you a beliver, he's been there and done that if you know what I mean.
It's over in Missouri, professional all the way but a bit pricey.

I don't recomend shooting a 50 off a vehicle mount
it really rattles the vehicle, things just loosen up

a 30 cal would be fine
yeah man, these are heavy dudty ball mounts, real nice quality

There is a nice space behind the rear tire on the passenger side to side a lot of remote gear or antenna tuners. Access panel can be customized with a tin snips.

HOLY S*$T!! That HF antenna is extreme!! How much body panel flex is there on the ball mount? It doesn't look like the ball mount is anchored to anything other than the thin sheet metal....I'm curious because when I do my Impala, there is only the thin fender for the ball mount. I'm going to fabricate a support bracket for it to take the stress off of the fender.

It if I hadnt want to put the antenna tuner back there as well as much smaller hole work have worked. On the new chevy's that cavity doesnt exsist, its now the space where jack and handle are mounted.

I usually dont run with the big 16ft on, Usually just the 12ft and that is very manageable. I also have a small spring and tie off the antenna at the roof line to reduce body flex. On the newer tahoe your going through the enter and outer body panel. On the blazer its a nice thick single panel. Worked well for the 2 years I had the 12ft antenna on. I smack a lot of trees out out in the country where I live and didnt see any problems with over flex stress.

I also have a shakesphere at120 system. Its a 32ft mobile/portable antenna. The base on this antenna is about 5 inches across. Perfect for your Hummer, tank, apc or SUV...
