MTVA INSTALL FOR JEDI RADIOS

Post by radioman91 »

HELLO,

I HAVE JUST COMPLETED AN INSTALL OF A JEDI MTVA UNIT IN A 2002 CHEV CREW CAB PICKUP. CAN THE YELLOW CONTROL WIRE THAT IS INTENDED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE IGNITION SYSTEM BE TIED TO A +12vdc SOURCE WITHIN THE MTVA TO ALLOW FOR UNIT OPERATION WHEN THE VEHICLE IGNITION IS OFF?

THIS VEHICLE HAS DUAL 900cca BATTERIES WITH THE SECOND BATTERY DEDICATED ONLY TO RADIO EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS.

ANY COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS OR IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY APRECIATED. I HAVE A COPY OF THE MOTOROLA MTVA INSTRUCTION MANUAL W/ PRINTS AND DRAWINGS IF NOTES OR SUGGESTIONS REFERENCE SPECIFIC LOCATIONS OR POINTS.

REGARDS,

MIKE

STOP
YELLING!

It's annoying as all get out.

As far as the yellow wire goes, it's no problem as long as you don't mind risking the dead battery...

I'd add an on/off switch inline with it so you can turn it on when you need to and not worry about killing the battery.
