now UPS is at it again, something about wanting a 440 mhz freq for package tracking... i read about this on the arrl home page... very interesting...

I'm sure if they offer the FCC enough $$$, they'll sell them anything they want. Could the FM broadcast band be next???

at first the request seems harmless enough but if you read through the article it brings up a very valid point against this move. Big Brown will more than likely get it, in the New York metro area they managed to glom up some nice pieces of the 900MHz range.

Yes we have the same trouble in
Canada. ( FCC) industry Canada
does not watch to hard so R.A.C
must try to keep amateur radio
intact.Big business buys what they want.

Ain't it kinda funny how they target a specific range when they go after spectrum.

I know of an underutilized part of the spectrum between 26.965 and 27.405 Mhz !
These 40 channel rigs are real cheap too.

Put an 8 foot antenna on top of ol'-brown and they can talk to the moon.
