Maxtrac UHF question

I have used several of the Maxtrac/Radius/GM300 series radios for 6, 2 and 440. The UHF's are the easiest, as the previous post stated, you just need to adjust the SL (steering line) voltage with a VOM to keep the VCO's below about 7.5 or so. I have found a few that "touching up" or "fine tuning" the receiver coils will make them work better the lower you go in the Ham band. I have one at 436 and that's about the lowest they want to go with usable RX without modifications.
