I see encryption advertised on all these GP350 ads, but never have seen it as an option in RSS. Do I need something else, or is that what a 5-tone is?

Have I just shown my stupidity?

Motorola does provide something called AVS (Analog Voice Scrambling) for the GP350. It's an add-on board, and you require a separate RSS for it. It's not very secure, compared to DES, DVP, etc, but will keep 99% of the scanner buffs from listening to you. Other companies may also provide encryption capability for the GP350s, but I'm not familiar with them.
