MSF5000 Alarm Beeps (revisited)

Post by [email protected] »

Greetings Board,

A few weeks ago there was a member who asked about a beeping noise their MSF5000 was making.... well guess what, now our system has started beeping.

Do any of you have knowledge about where a person could find the breakdown of the differant types of beeps on the MSF5000 short of buying the service manual. Our station is obviously trying to tell us something but I don't know what!!!

Suggestions are appriciated.

MSF audio alarms

Post by Doug »

Good Day John,
There are eight different audio alarms which are generated every 10 seconds. If it is a multiple failure they will be sent one after the other with a 2 second delay between alarms.
Here's a quick break down:
1 = Battery Revert Alarm
2 = PA alarm
3 = Synthesizer alarm
4 = Overvoltage alarm (with reference to battery backup)
5 = TSTAT alarm
6 = Reflected swr alarm
7 = Forward power alarm
8 = Redundant station alarm
I hope this at least starts you on your way. If you need any futher break downs don't hesitate to ask.

Doug,

Thanks for the input. Are the numbers you mention in your breakdown the number of beeps we will hear for each alarm?

Thanks,

John
