Chevy 2002 Spectra install
My brother has a chevy 2002 4Dr short bed 4x4 pickup truck with the duramax diesel loaded to the hill. He would like to install a Hi power spectra uhf radio with the A9 control head. I would like to know if there are any radio interference problem that might arise that might cause the vehicles computers to go haywire or any other systems that might be effected by the radio. I was also thinking about where to mount the control head so it looks clean and within reach of the driver, any hints? Also what would be a good area to mount the antenna the roof is fine wondering if the dome light was a good place to start for some kind of access for the antenna cable routing. Any help from you pros would be a great help. Richard
The dome light is always a good place if you're putting an antenna on. It lets you push the wire through without lowering the entire headboard... more often then not though it's cleaner to lower the whole thing and check everything out. In my explorer I couldn't see a support ridge in the roof until I dropped the whole headliner.

I'm sure you already know but be sure to send the green wire to the battery and the orange wire to the ignition sense on the fuse block. On the new Chevys you will not find a constant in the fuse block. Also you can mount the T/R unit under the rear seat if you want and run the control cable down the floor channel. These plastic pieces were you will step at pop up very easily, and there is a large gap underneath to run the control cable.
