Fast charge batteries have a diode and thermistor inside.Up to 80% charge is no trouble.
Above 80 % full charge is very important
so not to damage battery life.

I know most bats have 4 or 5 connections points and I remember seeing a site that showed what each connections goes to.
I'm aware of the thermistor. I plan on charging my battery just at the Pos (+) and Neg (-) terminal at 1/10 C rate.
I'd like to find that site that showed how each model battery is wired.

Jim: A battery is a battery. They are wired in series, so a 12VDC pack will have 10 cells wired in series. If you want to double the current capacity of a pack then first you wire a pack in series, then you wire another pack in parallel with the first pack. The thermal cutoff can go almost anywhere in the series connection chain. When it gets too hot it will open and the battery will cease charging until the pack cools off, at which time it will begin to charge again.This is a primitive type of charging cutoff. More modern and sophisticated chargers measure the internal resistance of the battery as it charges and then adjust the charging current to what is called for. Actual voltages of individual cells vary with type of battery, age, condition, etc., and can run from 1.2 to 1.5VDC. Some batteries' design centers I remember, but not all. A nicad cell has a design center of 1.33VDC.

I believe the cells are manufactured by panasonic corp....call them up they will probably give you all the information you want for free....I know motorola is suing union carbide for Visar battery problems and now I believe that they are exclusively made by panasonic..i could be wrong though...At least panasonic will release the information easily unlike motorola who would probably charge you 50.00 to have someone fax it to you.
