Is it possible to change the control head on an MCS2000 from a Type II (1-line rotary) to a Type III (2-line keypad)? Can this be done without updating the flashcode and risking a "tool-proofing" type error? Any help would be appreciated.

I've swapped heads from a model I & II, both worked, but not correctly. The display was screwy & the buttons were all messed up. Your radio will likely power up & work, but you won't be able to use most of the buttons or take advantage of the 2 line display. Is there such a thing as MCSLAB RSS? I know changing the display/button settings in MTSX LAB is easy enough, the MCS would likely be the same if it exists.
