Has anyone used the EX500 or EX600 yet?
If so any thoughts on the features, or bugs.
I'm considering replacing a Visar with one but would like some feedback first.

Hi Steve. We've only just sold our first two units (EX500's) a few weeks ago. My first instinct was to say "They can't be any worse than a Visar", but I figured those might be my famous last words. However, they seem very solid, and performed very well, both on my R-2670 analyzer and onsite at the customer's location. 90% of the problems with the Visar were with the NiMH batteries, and the flimsy controller board. Hopefully Motorola won't make history repeat itself and avoid those issues with the EX's. Being based on the HT platform, you may want to wait 6-12 months to see if any bugs pop up!

What radios do you own?: XTS5000, XTS1500, MT2000

Is the RSS the same for the EX600 and the other HT's...HT1250, etc.??? I realize that the cable is going to be different, but I thought the software may be the same, since the radios operate virtually the same.

Yes, the latest HT/CDM CPS (ver 6.01.00?) will also program the EX radios. The cable, like you said, is different.
