Hi:

This is for those who do not wish
to be ripped off by Motorola's price
on the HT90 / HT440 Mic ass'y ( Which by
the way, I was just informed there is going
to be a [ 8% ] PRICE INCREASE on parts and supplies begining July 1, 2002.

Anyhow, if you are good with repairing, one
cuts off the " Top" of the OLD HT90 Housing
that the cable is Crimped too.

If one can find a Old 4 Pin CB style Mic
Plug, the Housing is Brass, and you can cut
off the top of it. This is for the Cable Clamp portion of the upgrade.

Then carfully seperate the Crimp around the
Mic Plug enough so you can pull if foward. You now will be able to Solder On the New
Connector Shell to the Top of the OLD HT90
Housing shell ( and have a cable clamp for
the new cable )

All you have to do from there is rewire the
Mic Plug, and use some Silicon Seal on the
Outside of the mic plug so that when it is
inserting back into the Mic Shell, it will be
stable.

You then have a HT90 / HT440 Mic Plug that
is servicable.
