I have a question that I hope someone can answer: I just recently programed a new HT1250 and found some newer options than the older units (MDC message and MDC status) I would like to import all my info from my older Codeplug (mainly the 100+ personalities and multiple systems and lists) without having to re-type every single one.

I cant drag and drop and there arent any changes between the new and old personalities JUST the message and status menu. Is there anyway to do this? I cant copy past, drag and drop or import. I know the newer codeplug works with my 1250 now its just combining the new codeplug with the orig. data.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I think you're out of luck. With the addition of MDC Status & Message, the CPS won't let you clone from the old codeplug because it has a different "feature set" than the new one. Perhaps if the old radio had a firmware upgrade to the same version as the new one, you could then read it & clone. Somewhat of a hassle if you don't have the tools for the job, might as program the new radio manually.

The funny thing is that both codeplugs work in BOTH radios... The New and Old radios both except the New and Old Codeplugs. The problem isnt getting the features into the radio which I can do without a firmware upgrade... Its getting all the old info into the new codeplug with the features without retyping in every darn value (a real pain to anyone who has 100+ channels, multiple MDC systems, Quickcall systems, scan lists, etc.

Any ideas? to combine the info into the new codeplug without manually typing EVERYTHING?

I am curious. Since you are working with a windows based program, why can't you cut and paiste from one archive to a new radio. It may be slower than cloning but faster than typing.

Yes, I know what you're asking, but you won't be able to do it because the radios have different feature sets! It's unfortunate that the HT/CDM CPS will not let you drag & drop from one radio to another like the MTS/MCS CPS will.
