Hi,
Just bought a 2002 Jetta and want to mount a on glass 800mhz but will be getting the windows tinted this week. What's the best thing to do here, wait till the tinting has dried and then should I cut out a piece of the tint to mount the box or just straight through the tint ?
thanks for any replys.
Mike

I'm probably going to get some flaming for this....but.....
For UHF I use a Radio Shack on glass dual band antenna... They are meant to be dual band antennas but it works very very nicely on UHF.
I tried my radio with that antenna and a trunk lip mount that I have. I also tried a duplexer as well. Duplexer killed the receive on both VHF and UHF... The trunk lip mount received well but that was meant more for my VHF radio(antenna is a comtelco dual band cell look alike) With my UHF Spectra tuned down to 35 watts I can still hit a repeater on the other side of the county without trouble.
So just from using it it works well. Although I would suggest that the less the signal has to pass through the better. Tint around it after it's installed.
