Hi folks, had a friend change a couple of channels in my UHF HT-1000 H01SDC9AA3BN.
When I got it back audio cuts in and out when receiving in PL mode, sounds choppy and is even spaced- about twice a second. When in PL disable RX is A-OK. PL tone freq's were checked and are correct. Any ideas ?

Checked your bandwidth? Squelch settings? (we have a few HT's that when you write to them, the squelch has to be adjusted)
Keep talking!

Are you using MDC or Star Signalling?
If so there is an option within the signalling option section to permit pl only or mdcpl only reception, I would have to fire up the RSS to see exactly how it is worded, but under the MDC option I believe you press F3 the unmuting options are there. if you added MDC, or Channels This Sometimes happens, especially if you cloned the codeplug from another ht1000

Good Luck,
Vince

Cloning on the Jedi series can change the squelch, and TX deviation settings. I have had to read the radio after it was recalibrated to correct the settings and then change the channel frequencies and then save it back to the radio. So I do not clone them any more!

Thanks for the replies, bandwith verified,
alignment softpots same as before programming and radio not cloned ?
Strange thing is radio TX is a-ok and Rx
is a-ok in carrier squelch. Only problem is
monitoring in PL mode-you get a rapid chopping sound and this is on several frequencies with different PL tones. Radio
worked perfectly for past 2 years until it was re-programmed.

Just a thaught! is the radio going into priorty scan for some reason?
Sounds from your description like the scan mute when the radio looks at the priorty channel. Check the channel slaved scan.

Me dos pesos

Good thought Will, gave it a look but that's not it either. Kinda sounds like the priority scan with the audio null while it's looking at the priority channel like you describe but at a speed of 2-3X what that sounds like.
This one's got me going.

Have you tried cloning the radio with a known working codeplug? Try to narrow down if it's software related or hardware related...

Maybe it has some thing to due with the battery saver function under channel options. I have never used this, but perhaps it would rapidly powerdown the unit, several times a second to conserve energy....Some military radios do this. i.e. PRC-68

just a thought.

Appreciate the replies. Phantom's idea to clone the radio *worked*. Don't have a clue what was wrong with the codeplug- should have
archived it, but it's now back to normal.
