OK- First let me apologize if I'm getting a bit off topic, but it seems fairly relevent to some of the discussion threads here.

Anyhow, does anyone know which services permit the use of encryption? Obviously amateur is out, as well as GMRS and CB. I though FRS was, but I've seen a couple of type accepted units with voice inversion scrambling.

Also, if it's allowed in the general business services, would there be any difference between AVS and DES, etc. because of the modulation types?

Hmmmm....

Hello Humhead

Currently CB,Amateur, and GMRS Do Not allow Encryption, But you can use Voice Inversion on FRS, and Everything up to DES-XL on MURS.

Try This Link

Hope This Helps

Speaking of general business, alot of Taxi cabs & the base use Inverted Speech! And several years ago (or so) cordless phones in the 46/49Mhz band used Inverted speech.
