RB50 Tone groups

Anyone with experience with the RB50 out there?

I'm trying to (re)set up an RB50 to use an A tone from group 5, and a B tone from group 6.

The manual doesn't show a possible base ID that would support that combination, but people swear to me that it used to work with that tone pair

OK- Betting that few people have ever even dealt with these little beasts, can anyone at least point me towards a good tech support number at Motorola where I might try my luck?

I am not sure that can be done, but I will crack my book at the shop tomrow.
The RB50 is a fairly simple encoder so it mite not do it. We will just have to experiment a little.

Also, I realized that I meant RPB50, not RB50, but I don't think that changes much.

The tones that I'm trying to use are:
A 903.2Hz (159)
B 1122.5Hz (190)

BTW- I did finally get a hold of Radius tech support. They said "A What? Never heard of it." Things are getting sad......

HumHead, I have an original service manual for that unit. I would be able to copy the parts you need for the cost of copy and postage.

HumHead, thats what we called the guys who used Private Line on their transmitters back in the old days.!!!!! That is also back in the days that most radios were not PL and did not have the PL filter in the receiver causing the "HUM" on receive.

The HumHead handle actually refers to the fact that I derive the bulk of my income from the wacky world of pro audio.

It's a dubious honorific, bestowed by my colleagues in the business, who derive great amusement watching us audio engineers run around pulling our hair out trying to figure out where a couple of microvolts of 60Hz ground hum is getting into a couple of truckloads of equipment.

A Ha, AC 60 cycle HUM, been there done that.
The old "Ground Loop" school! And let's not for get about "Alternator Whine" school!!!!!
I was doing sound and video recording for a couple of bands, and they can be seen and heard at http://www.majorlable.org or http://www.simplymarie.com.

No problem with the manual, I will get the details to you.
