What would I have to agree to to get RSS for a radio. For example, If I wanted to program my own VHF Maxtrac and I am just HAM operator NOT a M service tech or retailer, what do I have to do? What rules and regulations do I have to sign/agree.? Is it just resale of RSS or programing freq's, pl, dpl of authorized systems or what. Why are o many people affraid of M?

ANYONE who's willing to pay can purchase RSS from Motorola. You will be required to sign a license agreement, which stipulates the RSS is for your use only. It cannot be resold, given away, transferred, whatever. There are at least 2 different licenses to be signed, depending on what RSS you order. It's a pain, and it's horribly expensive, which is why there's so much pirated stuff floating around. I believe the number to call & get the process going is 1-800-422-4210.

I don't know much about RSS licencing either.

Let me get this right: Whether or not you make money off of using the software, you pay the same amount. :???:

If I ever bought the rights to RSS, I could start a programming shop to pay it off. And, after I get RSS payed off, Ma M gets ZERO of my 100% profits. WHAT A DEAL.

So, there is little advantage of having a little radio shop, or a busy shop when it comes to RSS.

Right?

The RSS License does not cost anything except your time to read it and sign on the line.
The RSS License application part number is RPX4719G according to my information for most radios PRIOR to the HT750 and CDM radios.

As others have stated you get the upgrades to the RSS package for two years.
If you are working on several of the Radius radios, there is a combination package for Mobiles and one for Radius portables.
