I seem to remember some discussion that a full keypad/display HT1000 or MT(S)2000 could be turned into a JT1000 by simply dumping a JT1000 codeplug into it. True or False? Is there any known way to make a JT1000 with other Jedi parts and a JT codeplug?

No can do. The JT1000 has a different controller board all together and different firmware.

The RF boards are the same though.

Does anyone know what the model # is for the JT1000 controller board?

Call Motorola parts ID, 1-800-422-4210.

They can give you the proper part # and revision.

You are paying bucks for the part so get the service too.
