Do a search on "plectron." There are many sites out there with tons of useful information on these receivers. I just worked on mine and found all of the info you'll ever need is on only several sites.

Open the unit and remove the top cover. There should be two or four boards hanging under this aluminum cover. On the boards, there will be a toroid coil with a number on it. This number is the tone. You may have one set up for either QCII or "chord" tones.

My buddy has two Plectron R20 receivers and will sell or trade.
R20A4 1966 vintage on 154.xx with 643 tone
R20A7 1980 " " " " "
These are the house/mobile units that run on AC, 12vDC or internal battery backup (batteries were removed because they grew fuzz!). Both work fine and the A7 is MINT!,
include AC power cords and antennas.

I have a Plectron Sentry. Is there supposed to be a squelch when you hit the reset button? The unit lights up when I plug it in but there is no sound. Also how do you set the tones on it?
