Hi:

Welcome to the forum !

Anyhow, you might better discribe the problem so
that the group could better advise you.

Did the radio " Ever " give the power alert tone to you ?

Was the Radio a Ebay Radio ? Not always, but radios sold
" As-Is " on Ebay could be a sign of problems

Also, it could be a simple problem too....Bad Speaker, Broken
wire, things along those lines...

It could also me a Serious problem as well....Bad Audio
Chip, Defective Controller, or anything along those lines.

So, once the " History " of the radio is known, many Forum
Members may be able to help.

Hi:
Maybe the fuse is blown?
Just to inform Robert, if the MT1000 fuse
was blown, the radio would not be able
to be addressed by the RSS....

Cases where the Fuse is blown in a MT1000,
all power is cut off from the radio.....

Whoops, thanks for the correction, Monty. :) I'm not very familiar with these radios yet. :D

The radio was from ebay, I know I took a chance. When I got the radio it was dead or seemed to be no power up tones, or squelch nothing. I switched the front cover from a know good, but nothing. So I thought what the heck and tried to read the radio, it is programed with 16 modes all the same, all alert tones are enabled. Thanks for the reply

You mentioned you had changed out the front cover so maybe you have a
controller you can swap out to try ? Bad controller would be the 1st thing
I would eliminate.
