Motorola battery fit problems
Moderator: Queue Moderator
Hi:
Since I have worked with 1000's of batteries
over the years, thought you might find this
of interest:
Can't say this for sure, but for a short
time, there was a Battery Mfg that was
making " Exact" Counterfit Motorola Batteries
all the way down to the lable and bar codes...
Only problem, the batteries were made
Cheap, and did have problems.....
And they were the GP300 Series !!
I have never seen the HT1000's Counterfit
one.
Let me know if you think its a counterfit one
and I will pay the postage if its bad to have
it sent to me.

- What radios do you own?: iPhone, Blackberry, HT220
there still is a guy out there making them...ive seen them and he gave me his business card. He makes them for just about every radio, bar code and little circle cut out of label just perfect....even has a motorola hologram with a check mark that says "motorola original" the batteries are $15.00 each and you pretty much can't tell the difference other than the fit and some plastic seems a little cheaper. who did you buy them from and I'll tell you if its the guy i'm thinking of....PS don't buy them they suck
I too came across counterfeit GP300 (HNN9628) batteries last year. They seemed to originate in China, and except for the poor quality of the printing on the label, they were virtually identical to the OEM product. Unfortunately, with the tremendous popularity of the GP300, there are a lot of counterfeit batteries, in addition to all the legitimate 3rd party manufacturers.

All 4 batterys were bought at an official Moto-Dealer and i think, they are original. But i encountered lack of qualitity very often in the last time (especially on items, which are made/assembled in Ireland?!)What`s wrong with Moto?

I would send them back to motorola! with a letter! break out a dial-caliper & measure the battery & radio! (keep a record) sounds a little overboard! Send that in too..so nothing gets switched. Few times it happend to us..we got fresh batteries back! And They fit!!

Hi:
As I mentioned before, the ' Counterfit "
batteries were sold to many distributors at
a very good deal....The only real problem
is Motorola would not Warrantee the battery
after they learned it was counterfit.
You should be able to call Motorola, and
give them a good discription, and hopefully
they will be able to tell you...
You also might get lucky, some of the Newbee
Employees are clueless, and it might slip
thorough !!

This, as other problems, is what the "dealers are doing. They buy from off shore sources and sell them as Motorola product.(the GP battery from China cost them $7.00!!!)
I have personally seen this with my own eyes, and it makes me sick that the qoute/unqoute dealers do this among other unfair practices.
Most "dealers" can NOT even program a radio correctley!!!!! makes me puke. Even if I made a fourtune, I WILL NOT cheat the customer, I am in the two-way business over thirty years now.
I have had to fix too many shoddy jobs by "others" who call themselves professionals.
Batteries included.
