What radios do you own?: XTS5000R, Astro Saber III, I

Post by MT2000 man »

Hi all, quick (easy) question reguarding DOS. In my unit, we have an Astro spectra that has DOS on it, and it cuts the whole MDC out.On my portable you can still hear the "chirp", my question is how can i get my portable (mt2000) to do what the astro spectra does? (no MDC to very minor MDC1200) ? Oh, and while I'm thinking about it, does anyone happen to have an audio MDC1200 DOS file i can download??

Thanks a lot!

I am not sure on the MT2000RSS, but on the HT1000 there is a section in the RSS to set the MDC "options" and that is where the Data Operated Squelch settings are.

If you are looking to hear an audio file, that may be a bit difficult unless:

1-You find a way to take the audio directly from the radio

2-Have access to a "call checker" at a dispatch office and they has DOS turned on at the console

3-Take a tape recorder to the speaker

I may be able to get the wav at work, but I have to see if I have the right plugs..
