My 2000 Impala

Post by Carl »

I recently sold my trunk mount GM300 VHF and also my Yeasy FT-2600m.. so now my vhf whip is useless... i'm trying to replace my UHF GM300 for a CDM1250 UHF 403-470 trunk mount if possible

Here is what i use now, only a UHF GM300 trunk mount.

What radios do you own?: APX / Astro 25 / Harris

Looks good - mounting plate it neat even if done in plywood.

Your antennas are a bit close together. I would have put them on both sides of the trunk lid to get a better 1/4 wave spacing. I'm sure they work just fine though.

Overall quite nice.

This might be a stupid question but, what are the 2 black boxes between the inverter and the map light on the board in your trunk?

thanks

Very nice. I like the GM head in the console. How much room to spare is there and where did you run the control cable?
