Greetings. Has anyone tried the repeater cable that allows bi-directional operation on a maxtrac type radio? They have them at http://members.aol.com/crobbinsnc/carolinaradio.html Has anyone tried this one or made a similar kind? Thanks, Bill

Bill,
I make them for $75 and you get one for bi and one for same band repeater. If you are interested let me know. I have 5 repeaters working on these. Two of them are cross band for a group of Ham guys here.

Mike, I too am interested in the setups you make for repeaters.
Do you have a direction sheet or something or maybe a website url that I can look at the item at?

Thanks very much

Hi Bill,

I have used the cable that Carolina puts together and have had good luck with it as far as bi-directional use goes. Makes a nice mobile extender to get out of buildings with.

Both these "adaptor cables" you mention are way over priced as I can make an adaptor cable for twenty bucks or less BUT it does not have any circuitry in it for fail safe, dropout delay or audio processing or even a disable switch (on the extender). And they do not work on five pin radios like my Repeater and Extender Modules do.
Not to mention if you want to use one of the radios that are connected with the bi-directional "Adapter" it does not work as it should. And turn off one of the radios and you have another set of problems, and so on.
