motorola spectra secure

can someone tell me where i plug a des chip into my spectra??? thanks also this was a non secure radio that i changed the model # on

You need to plug it into the Secure Board (HLN-6000B.) The Secure Board will then plug into the command board. Then keyload the hybrid and away you go....

Good luck??? You will need lots of it, you will need to blank the command board and re-initialize it as a secure command board, let's put it this way, since you have changed your model #, now re-read the radio with regular rss, go to the options screen, notice how it will say secure cabale... not available, that's because of the command board, or you could always just program it with LAB and your CP to get around this.
