I have setup a new board - much like this one for the following discussions:

GE/Ericsson
Kenwood
Vertex/Yaesu
MA Comm
Icom

I invite people to take a look, it's running the same BBS system that Batlabs does, and follows the same ideas. However, please keep discussions regarding Motorola stuff to here - I have no intention in being in competition with this board when it comes to Motorola stuff... I can't beat the advice I've gotten here!

If people would like to see more forums, or consdier themselves to be a Subject Matter Expert, I would be happy to consider granting them moderatorship.

Without further adu -

http://radio.the161.net

Eventually it will become it's own domain...

Enjoy!

I'm hoping I do too. I haven't found another board that has a sophicated enough look to attract visitors on a daily basis for any of these radios - they might be out there, but I haven't found one yet.

Let me know any feedback, and if there's anything else I can add.

Enjoy!

COOL! It's good to see that people don't think that "M" is the only radio out there.
Good job....I'll visit daily.

Nice board. I'd suggest combining the ham and comercial links. I like how you copied this board, it's really easy to get around instead of relearning a new board. GOOD JOB! You beet me too it. I was starting one, but it's not as good.

Thanks again for the comments.

Interms of merging topics, I'll see how it goes.

Unlike Motorola equipment, I guess I'll use Yaesu/Vertex for example, they have a complete line of radios for ham, and a different one for commercial. Both have different software, mods, etc (at least one would assume this). So I thought that splitting up would work better.

I'll keep an eye on it, and if things start crossing, I'll move them around.

If people have more comments, feel free to post them in the general chatter of my board, as opposed to using Bat's forum to discuss further.

Thanks,

Alex

Admittedly, it WOULD be nice to have a forum that would bring out those who are well-versed in the operation and setup of some EDACS products. I've got a Rangr VRS system that I wanted to use but its performance is so bad and its behavior is so unpredictable that it's sitting in a box under the bed, but I'd LIKE to get it working properly. I asked the techs in Lynchburg, and they sort of gave me a blank look. Via phone.

I'd be more than happy to make you a thread if you'd like

I know Lindsy Banton has a forum that's dedicated to turnking, and I believe has some coverage regarding EDACS, however, I can make on under the GE/Ericsson heading.

Let me know.

Actually, I like the different forums for commercial and HAM. I'm not a HAM or have any interest in the subject. No offense to anyone who is, I'm just strictly a commercial radio person. I don't see any similarity between the two other than using the same radio.
