The part number for the new Lithium-Ion battery is NTN8818A. It is the size of the small Ni-cad and has 1700 mah capacity. One of our P.D.'s is testing them and so far they are pleased. They say the Astro Saber now feels smaller than an XTS and runs for a full 12 hour shift. This battery is expensive - Accesspoint says $175.

There is also a package deal - the battery and a new tri-chem charger for 225.00. The number for that is NTN8818AR. I believe that comes with the NTN1667A charger which normally goes for $100 so the package price looks pretty good.
