Usable range for Moto mag mount base?
What is the usable frequency range for the 01-80355A80 mag mount? Is it all band?
I picked up a couple cheaply and was surprised to find the frequency range was not specified on the information sheet.
Thanks.

The part number you listed comes up as a mag mount antenna base.
As such, it has no RF characteristics. You have to attach an antenna
to it and then the bandwidth can be determined.

Just make sure you have enough metal under the antenna mounting location to allow your selected antenna to function correctly. Some antennas want metal under them for a ground plane and others don't need one.

By itself? About 30 feet.
Revised response
Sorry for the inaccuate response. I didn't read your post correctlty where you asked for the "frequency" range. I concur with others. Good up to 800/900 MHZ range.

Re: Usable range for Moto mag mount base?
The only reason I asked is that I've seen mag mount bases that weren't recommended for use @ 800 MHz or above, and I didn't know if Moto's was universal or not.
I have a mixture of VHF, UHF and 900MHz whips, and I'd like to be able to swap them around as needed, if the base isn't going to present any limitation.

Its good through 900. Wouldn't use it for Wifi or GPS however.
