off to the depot it went…
my radio, and 400 I spent…
repair I was told, and firmware not so old…
in short time I should expect.
returned to me, I must say…
a new main board saved the day …
repaired it was, but firmware still old…
a call to customer service was next.
send me an ibutton I ask...
let me handle the task...
I'll do it in the field...
it's no big deal.
return it they say…
Fedex it next day…
no need to worry…
they promise to hurry.
So the radio came back a couple of weeks ago with host R15.00.09 and DSP R15.00.05. That wasn't the most up to date firmware at the time. Any real reason to send the radio back for newer firmware?

Re: XTS2500 Depot Experience - Repair and Firmware Update
I'm running 12.xx on a SmartZone 4.1 analog and digital T/G with NO issues at all. Have a couple at 15.xx which updated the DSP stuff though. Supposedly, my 12.xx radios are compatible with the new 7.9 Astro25 system we are migrating to but we will see....

I've got a 2500 with Host and DSP 11.00.00 which works fine on both a 4.1 and 7.9 system.

Yes. Sending it back will reset the 90 day warranty that comes with flat rates:)

11.00.00 was extremely flaky, I would get that updated ASAP.
