APX7000 blue dot
APX7000 700 / UHF R2 model number H97TGD9PW1AN
I am turning out APX7000 radios and have noticed that some have a small blue dot on the name plate (conventional side).
Radios with the blue dot and with out have the same model number listed above.
Anybody know what the blue dot is for?
Thanks in advance

Re: APX7000 blue dot
The blue dot means the radio is equipped with bluetooth. If the radio did not come directly from the factory, verify that the module is in place.

Re: APX7000 blue dot
We have two radios from the factory that have the blue dot and do not have bluetooth. It may be the lables they are using at the time.

Re: APX7000 blue dot
The Blue dot means the radio has the bluetooth speaker grille in it. It simply designates that the radio has the bluetooth antenna, not the option board or flash option.

Re: APX7000 blue dot
so far, all radios that i have read with blue dots have N/A for Board Name, Board type, and Board Firmware Version.
when i asked the moto guy about this, he scratched his head.

Re: APX7000 blue dot
Does not surprise me. I have never met a moto saleperson who knew the product. When we orderd our APXs WE had to insist what we wanted for options and had to prove with another agency's APX that what we wanted was indeed available.
Back to the BT....Two of ours have the dot but no BT and don't know why. The others do not havr the dot. Main reason we can not have it we were told again by Moto, is our radios are the R version AND intrinsicly safe. I also found out that the BT only works with the APX accessories due to the BT encryption and we wanted to use off the shelf "cell phone" BT earsets. So we are going with the Pryme BT side connector adapter like the XTS series.

Our SWAT people were told that moto blue tooth acc's would be available to them. Now im being told that the best SWAT Operator option is to get an accy adapter for the apx to use with their current comports.
i cant seem to find that anywhere.
Thank you for the Pryme suggestion
