Headset on a GM300/GM380

Post by k9protection »

Hi to all, I'm after a bit of advice, and this seems like the logical place to ask..

I need to use a desk mounted GM380 in a loud environment, so would like to connect a headset up to it. I'm looking at http://www.mckayassociates.com.au/web-c ... ohecs.html as the main option, but mckay don't seem to have an adaptor for the GM series. Would somebody in the know be able to tell me if it's possible to simply bare the wires on the ptt button on this, and run it in through the accessory connector or the mic socket? would any additional wiring be needed other than crimping the new connector on the end of the wire, baring in mind that all the adaptors for this seem to be for portable headset use.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

If the headset is for the handheld radios you will have to add a simple preamp and wiring to the headset.

The mic and headset audio are available on the Mic jack on the GM 300 radio. Some headsets may have low impedance ear speakers and would need to be hooked into the accy jack's speaker pins. Mic input is also available on the accy jack.

You may send me an email so I can send you the schematic of the adapter.
