I have a Spectra remote mount radio with an A4 head, and I would like to use this radio as a base now. I believe the A4 head can be mounted to the radio, but obviously I need either a cable or board to make the internal connections. Can someone tell me what I need? I have searched the various forums, but haven't found anything that looks like what I need.
Thanks,

Spectra A4 head, what part do I need

Re: Spectra A4 head, what part do I need
What is the model of the Spectra drawer? The low/medium power radio drawer is able to mount the control head directly. A high power drawer cannot mount the control head directly.
A low/medium power radio needs a HLN6285 radio interconnect board to make the control head a dash mount radio configuration.

Depending on which remote mount control head cable you are using now, you may need to make some wiring changes to the J2 DB-15 connector on the back of the radio drawer.

For example, if the speaker is connected to the remote mount control head cable which you are removing, it obviously needs to be moved to the J2 DB-15 connector on the back of the radio.

Re: Spectra A4 head, what part do I need
Mike, thanks for the info, the pictures help! Yes, it is a low/med conventional radio (D43KMA7JA4AK). Seems like there are a couple versions of the interconnect board. This radio doesn't have the secure stuff, so I guess just the HLN6285 part number? (without suffix)
I understand the speaker and ignition wiring will have to move to the rear db15.

No, the speaker and ignition is already there on the DB15 connector.ns7c wrote: I understand the speaker and ignition wiring will have to move to the rear db15.
