Hi,
The Clemson University Amateur Radio Club has a Motorola Pulsar I, which we believe to be a VHF IMTS car phone. We only have the chassis and the mounting plate. Wondering if this is worth keeping around, or what their going price is.

Re: Motorola Pulsar I
I have some Harris Alpha IMTS UHF PA modules that I got out of the engineering scrap bin when I worked there eons ago. We used to be able to get a property pass to take them home for projects. The PA modules were designed for high transmit duty cycle, and were nice for repeater PAs or even HT RF booster amps. If you have the time and energy, you might be able to use the PA off of the Pulsar for similar applications. You'd need to figure out the drive level for the PA strip.
Just an idea for old solid state radios that are otherwise EOPL.

Re: Motorola Pulsar I
Basically the PA on a Pulsar I (green chassis) is from a Mocom-70 mobile derated to run continuous duty, should be about 1 watt to drive it. Other than that not much use.
