HT1250 - No TX

Post by vb105 »

Just when I thought my day has started off bad, it's just gone worse. My HT1250 VHF (TANAPA 1482A) no longer transmits. I have it taken apart and haven't found any cold solder joints at the antenna so I'm leaning towards the PA. I don't have access to a schematic, and I can't seem to find one on MOL. Can someone point me in the right direction as to where the PA transistor is and what the Moto part number would be? I've taken out the 4 or 5 torx screws and found a transistor behind the board which is a faint yellow color - and it's actually a little darker in places like its gotten hot a few too many times. It's my hunch that that may be it...

Thanks guys!

The PA and driver are located under the shielding below the soldered side of the antenna connector.. check to see if you get a 2 amp draw.. usually its the driver or the PA gone .. famous problems...
